Movement 3: Arms Arching (2)-Supporting the Sky
A: Title
The Movement of Supporting Heaven and Hugging the Moon, in the short title as The Movement of Arms Arching (2)-Supporting Heaven
B: Methods
- The left arm and right arm swing outward respectively to the left and the right from the position of the lower abdomen and rotate up above the head. The arms stretch straight. The palms are upward. The fingers are stretched out loosely. The hands are opposite to the Baihui acupoint. Lean your head backward slightly. The eyes look up slightly. The arms move toward the front slightly.
- The nose sounds Heng (inhaling) while swinging and rotating your arms upward above your head. Sounding Heng should be activated from the lower abdomen and sounded by the nose. Then the mouth sounds Ha (exhaling) while swinging and rotating your arms downward to your lower abdomen, see Picture 03, which is like hugging the moon. Sounds Heng while arms swinging up above the head and sounds Ha while arms swinging down the lower abdomen. Heng means inhale and Ha means exhale, which is called the Air Vibration Calisthenics. Considering that the middle and old-aged people might not exercise it well, then it changes to the Heng Ha Calisthenics.
- The function of Air Vibration Calisthenics can expel the accumulated suffocated airs in the chest and lower abdomen into a clear and smooth state. The Air Vibration can open your chest and make your spirit vigorous. For example, old people generally make a long sigh to ease their chest while feeling chest congestion. And also, people will stretch their hands above their heads, too. For that, it is called a yawn.
C: Remarks
Stop sounding Heng while hands have supported the sky. Stop sounding Ha while arms have hugged the moon.
