Movement 14: Arms Expanding
A: Title
The Movement of Arms Expanding.
B: Methods
Move your left foot a big step outward. The feet align with the edges of outer shoulders. Squat your body 45 or 25 degrees. Relax your arms and make hollow fists while hanging down besides the knees with the eyes of fists toward ahead. See Picture 14. Straighten your arms loosely. Sink your head first.
Then the feet thrust into the ground immediately and lean back your body 15 degrees. In the meantime, the arms expand straight and lean back aligned with the shoulders. The chest is upward in the sky. Inhale and move the Chi from your lower abdomen to the chest. Then thrust your feet into the ground again and expand and rotate your arms back ahead to the front of your chest. Now it takes an exhale. See Picture 15. Squat again your body 45 or 25 degrees and expand your arms in front of your chest while the palms are opposite to each other.
It takes an inhale while rotating your arms toward the body back. It takes an exhale while rotating your arms back and expanding your arms in the front of your chest. This movement belongs to one of the Respiration Calisthenics. However, it does not make sounds while inhaling and exhaling. People can exercise this movement while their airs in the chest are congested and not easy to in and out. This movement is suitable for the diseases of lower Jiao.
Note: There are two ways for the respiration calisthenics. One is inhaling starting from your nose to your lower abdomen. The other one is inhaling starting from your lower abdoem to your chest. Both methods have the same function, while they take different ways.
