Notes: This Movement is taught by Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung in the later stage. This Movement is exercised practically in the fields.
A: Title
The Movement of The Small Crane Step, or The Movement of Taking a Walk, or The Small Crane Step.
B: Abstract
- Relax your body and dissipate your body heat by going for a walk.
- Harmonize your breaths and make your mind in peace.
- The way of walking in this movement is like walking under the 15th moon at night, while the bright moon shines on people. The body and shadow become one. The moon and people become one. The Original Chi merges the bright moon.
C: Methods
- Move back your left foot a half step aligned with the edges of inner shoulders. Straighten your body. Straighten your legs. Turn your two hand backs toward ahead. Stretch your fingers loosely. The tongue tip touches the ridge of the upper teeth. The upper and lower teeth are in touch with each other slightly. The eyes look ahead horizontally. Breathe naturally. The head, eyes, body, and mind should all be upright.
- Keep the knees stretched out without bending. The right foot walks ahead a little step at first. Then walk your left foot. The feet make walks ahead interchangeably and are directed up and down vertically. Hang your foot in the air while lifting up the foot. Touch down your foot on the ground closely while putting down your foot. Thrust the Chi into the ground while putting down your foot.
- Turn your palms toward the front. Stretch out your fingers loosely. Keep the knees stretched out without bending. Step backward on your left foot at first by a little step. Then step backward on your right foot. The feet make steps backward interchangeably and are directed up and down vertically. Hang your foot in the air while lifting up the foot. Touch down your foot on the ground closely while putting down your foot. Thrust the Chi into the ground while putting down your foot.
D: Remarks
- Walk stepwisely and keep it straight without skewing it.
- The mind is peaceful while relaxing and dissipating your body heat by taking a walk.
