〈Back to the Contents of Training Materials for Chinese Waitankung〉

This volume was written by worldwide Tankung Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung for the purpose of promoting sports for all. It was popular and reprinted many times. For memorizing Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung after his return to origin on March 14th, 1996, the Ministry of Education issued a certificate of merit with a posthumous photo for his contribution to the country.

Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung was born on December 1, 1920 at Tianjin. He has been smart since his childhood. He went to school at the age of  seven and graduated from Tianjin Normal School. He started learning Tantui taught by Master Chang Zhen-Rong. He formally acknowledged Chang Rui as his master to learn five-elements Tungpichuan. He also acknowledged Chang Zhe as his teacher by recommendation of Chang Rui. He finally attained excellent achievement after hard learning and exercising for ten years. 

He was the Chairman of Tianjin Guoshu Museum in 1946 to promote Guoshu exercises and attained big fame within the area of Beijing and Tianjin. 

For the sake of the server situation, in December, 1948 and followed by the commands of Master Chang Zhe, he took the secret books of Tankung to Taiwan. He was a teacher at Jiufen Elementary School in Taipei county in 1949. The climate of the Ruifang mountain area was rainy and wet all the time. He was very seriously ill then. He remembered and opened the Tankung secret books to start exercising. He then regained health after half a year. After struggling exercising for 18 years, he finally reached a big achievement with the state of hiding the horse penis and spreading the vitality within the whole body. 

He transferred to DingXi Elementary School in Taipei county in 1967.  He started to teach Groshu Tantui and Waitankung publically. After that, Waitankung was popular with many followers and exercisers and known spreaded out the whole country to reach the state of sports for all.

The Chinese WaiNeiTankung Research Association was founded in September, 1978. The development of Tankung then was prompted more rapidly and the association branches were also successively established. The Tankung population has even reached one hundred and fifty million. Many foreign Tankung classes were also established within the areas of Malaysia, Singapore, Philippine, Indonisia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, USA, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, etc. Then, Tankung has been transmitted into International areas and across the fences of races, cultures, religions, and politics. Tankung has been a successful national diplomacy.

Agreed by the Minister of Education before, Goushu Tantui and Waitankung has been edited as the standard sports materials for Junior and Elementary Schools and Interior Societies. Following the effective instructions and guides by Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung, teens, childrens, middle and old aged people were all benefited publically. Grand Master Chang Chih-Tun then was awarded the excellent teacher by the Department of Education of Taiwan Province. His name was also listed on the banner of Education Fragrance in 1979. He also was awarded the social group prize by the Interior Minister then.

In order to commend Grand Master Chang Chih-Tung for his  contribution and promotion of sports for all in the whole country, this certificate of merit was issued to express the witness for later generations.

一、簡介 張志通大師天津市人，民國九年十二月一日生，父鴻勳公，信奉回教，曾任教長，母韓氏，九歲喪父，賴母扶養成人，大師聰慧過人，七歲入小學、天津師範學校畢業，從常振榮大師學習彈腿，拜張銳為師，學習五行通臂拳，後經銳師介紹再投入張喆名下，傳授五行通臂拳，十年苦修，技藝精進，遂有傑出成就，民國三十五年曾任天津國術館長大力推行國術運動，名震天津，三十七年十二月時局緊迫，大師奉銳師命攜丹功秘笈來台。 三十八年秋任職台北縣九份國小，因瑞芳地區多雨，氣候潮濕，大師疾病纏身，遂啟錦盒按丹冊練功，半年恢復健康，經十八年苦修，丹功已有所成就。五十六年調永和頂溪國小，再經十二年苦修，累計共苦煉三十年，外內丹功大成。之後開始教導學生彈腿，公開傳授丹功，習者日眾，後竟遍及全省家喻戶曉，練功者眾，曾達三百萬人，對造福社會大眾功績至偉。 本文即是張志通大師，所創之外丹功十二式功架之列表，並將在其在文章中分別詳細說明各式的練法。 外丹功是一門古遠就存在的功法，傳下來的共有15式，傳承至張志通大師後，張大師只公開傳授12式。經咨詢請教張大師親傳入室弟子蘇慶忠總幹事，有關外丹功十二式的式名與式序如下： 張志通大師所公開傳授的外丹功十二式，第一式為預備式，第十二式為健壯步履仙鶴功又名大仙鶴步功，但此式不包括小仙鶴步功。 小仙鶴步功不屬於外丹功12式，但確實是屬於外丹功功法中的一部份。 小仙鶴步功是為了取代「（正統的）散功」，亦即在練完外丹功12式後，要將身上的熱氣散開，要讓翻騰的氣息能夠調和平靜下來，以備進行下一個功法。當然，小仙鶴步功的功用不僅僅是散功而已，還能生成更多的好處，也就是說，已將很多的好東西包括進來。 小仙鶴步是練習外丹功12式後，要接著練的功法，所以仍舊要明確表示出來，但為避免與外丹功12式的式號（或式序）有所混淆，所以設定如下：式名：小仙鶴步功；式序：散步式。 張大師說：預備式在發動先天氣…外丹功十二式不外行氣（大師資料分享，黃國展堂記，摘自外內丹功雜誌第五期 72.8），又劉泰造理事長也說：預備式主要煉先天氣（精工之法-漢導引和外丹功預備式示範觀摩及講解，103年度台南市中華外內丹功運動協會會員大會，2014年9月13日）。上述的資料可以進行如下的理解：預備式主要是在發動先天炁，也就是，預備式在煉養先天炁，但因為預備式在發動先天炁後，先天炁亦會流遍全身，故也會行氣使用運行先天炁。 ...
