Movement 8: Waist Turning
A: Title
The Movement of Great Belt Turning Circularly, in the short title as The Movement of Waist Turning, or Waist Turning.
B: Abstract
The Belt Vessel is around your waist. Turning your Belt Vessel can harmonize activities of your kidneys and spine. It is really helpful to exercise this movement for middle and old-aged people.
C: Methods
- Move your left foot outward a half step aligned with the edges of outer shoulders. Squat your body 45 or 25 degrees depending on your strength of crotches and legs. The toes and heels should be upright and not skewed. The feet touch down the ground closely. The head is upright. The tongue tip touches the ridge of the upper teeth slightly. The upper and lower teeth are in touch with each other slightly. Hold back your tailbone. The eyes look ahead horizontally. Breathe naturally. The knees should not be skewed. Stretch your fingers loosely. The fingers of each hand are facing opposite in front of the navel. Turn your palms upside down. The fingertips and wrists are at the same level. The elbows expand outward the armpits or shoulders. The interspace between two elbows keeps in oval form. The chest should not expand outward and should be widened, relaxing and leveled. See Picture 09.
- Count nine numbers silently. Press hands one time for each count. After counting nine numbers, turn your belt (left waist) leftward 90 degrees. Then turn back rightward 180 degrees. Then turn your belt leftward 180 degrees again. After turning leftward nine times and turning rightward nine times, it comes back to the original state.
- Two hands in front of the navel keep not moving to quietly wait for the coming of Original Chi. After activating the Original Chi, it starts to tremble your fingers and then upward to the arms and shoulders. The vibration is just like the effects of passing the electricity to stream your upper arms and the whole body. The time of streaming the Original Chi depends on your needs and condition. It is turning your Belt Vessel (waist) but is not turning your shoulders and crotches. The turning of your shoulders and crotches are followed naturally by the turning of your Belt Vessel.
D: Remarks
- The function of turning your Belt Vessel can make your hands and feet agile.
- It can circulate the blood without congestion and the Chi or energy could not be in stagnation.
